Roni Sarig, PhD from Nagoya University, Japan, is a writer, researcher and lecturer of Japanese culture and East Asian Studies at Bar Ilan University and Tel Hai College. Her researches focus on memory of the Second World War in Japan, especially cultural aspects and children's literature; as well as on contemporary Japanese society and marginality in Japan. She published two novels (in Hebrew), All the Silk Paths, and Soon the Wind will Blow (biographical novel based on the life of Israel Levin, a Holocaust survivor), and a children's book, The Journey that Began in Ifsuddenly, and translated from Chinese to Hebrew Hong Ying's novel, Daughter of the River. Dr. Sarig has received fellowships and prizes for her academic and literary work.
